Solo Reduced Ports Laparoscopic Resectional Roux-en Y Gastric Bypass: Case Report

Abstract

|
We have recently performed solo reduced ports laparoscopic resectional Roux-en Y gastric bypass using a manual scope holder for the morbid obesity patient with neuroendocrine tumor in the high body, posterior wall of the stomach. She has also suffered from diabetes and hypertension for 4 years and her body mass index (BMI) was 32.6 kg/cm2. Initially, the patient underwent endoscopic submucosal dissection. However, the deep resection margin was positive in the pathologic examination. After careful counselling and discussion between the physicians and the patient, she decided to get laparoscopic resectional Roux-en Y gastric bypass in order to reduce her overweight and improve her diabetes. In this case report, we describe the world first solo reduced ports laparoscopic resectional Roux-en Y gastric bypass for the treatment of neuroendocrine and morbid obesity with metabolic diseases.
